Overview

Drive various trucks in the company fleet to a work site and perform laborer duties with other crew members.  Duties can include: digging with shovels, concrete removal/restoration, asphalt and dirt removal/restorations, utilizing a variety of power tools, dig up and repair of conduit systems, placing of telephone cables.  Tasks can also include hauling spoils to a dump site and transporting various equipment items to and from a work site. 

Responsibilities

A critical part of this position is to perform the safe operation of the various types of equipment whether it is mounted on trucks or trailers, operating dump trucks, operating fiber equipment, rodding equipment, wench equipment, digger derrick, and/or bucket trucks.

 

The person holding this position is responsible for routine maintenance of vehicles including tire pressure, fluid levels, greasing as required.  This person is responsible for pre-trip and post-trip inspections.  Position requires the driver to be obey all state traffic laws and follows all DOT standards.  It is mandatory that the person holding this position attends all safety meetings and training requirements, wear all appropriate PPE, complete daily production sheets, and follow all company policy and procedures.

 

Work Schedule and Hours:
While work schedules and hours may vary somewhat depending on specific client locations and projects.  In general, applicable work schedules include 5 – 8’sa and 4-10’s.  Work hours include beginning at approximately 6:30 a.m. and finishing around 4:00 p.m.  One half hour lunch.  Overtime as job dictates.

Qualifications

All successful candidates will have passed both a physical examination and drug/alcohol screen.  Driver/Labor must have a minimum of a valid commercial “A” driver’s license and be able to pass DOT physical along with a background check.  Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.  Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
