Overview

J. Daniel & Company, a Division of Danella Companies, is seeking entry level and experienced laborers in our Cincinnati, Ohio location. 

Responsibilities

Duties include digging near various underground utilities, repair of existing conduit systems, placing of telephone cables, complete restoration of dirt, grass, asphalt, concrete, and brick pavers.  Position requires working in confined spaces such as manholes and trench excavations, climbing of ladders, climbing in and out of trucks.  Position requires the driving of a NON-CDL vehicle such as a one-ton dump truck, pick-up, or van.  Individual must perform daily pre-trip and post trip inspections of vehicle and perform daily check of all vehicle fluids and tire pressure. 

 

Position requires operating vehicles in a safe manner, obeying all traffic laws, and following all DOT standards applicable to the vehicle.  It is mandatory that this individual attends all safety meetings and required training.  It is also required that all appropriate PPE is worn at all times.  Position requires the completion of daily production sheets and to abide by all company policies and procedures.

 

Machines, Tools, Equipment, and Work Aids:
Hand tools, hand saws, shovels, digging bars, claw hammers, tape measure, rakes, brooms, gas tools, demo saws, generators, blowers, water pumps, pneumatic air tools, jack hammers, air saws, tampers. 

 

Work Schedules and Hours:
While work schedules and hours may vary somewhat depending on specific client locations and projects.  In general, applicable schedules include 5 – 8’s and 4 – 10’s.  Work hours include beginning at approximately 6:30 a.m. and finishing around 4:00 p.m.  Half hour for lunch.  Overtime as job dictates.

 

Qualifications

All successful candidates will have passed both a DOT physical examination and drug/alcohol screen – along with a background check.  Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.  Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
