Job Summary:

The Project Engineer will perform routine engineering tasks under the supervision of senior engineer management with the goal of developing more advanced applied engineering skills. In addition, the perfect candidate will coordinate and manage engineering and technical development projects.

 

Responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversees various aspects of workflow, staffing, budget allocation, and scheduling of the assigned project.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes equipment, systems, processes, and systems to identify modifications to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
  • Assesses the competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status of vendors.
  • Collaborates with design group to change plans if problems arise.
  • Collaborates with project engineers from other plants to share problems and solutions.
  • Collaborates with project staff to create a strategic action plan and cost estimates of materials, time, labor, and other resources required to complete the project.
  • Collaborates with the operations department to identify and troubleshoot problems.
  • Compares the actual cost of development project to estimates.
  • Conducts routine maintenance checks and performs preventive maintenance on utility equipment.
  • Diagnoses and corrects utility problems when possible; contacts outside contractors to repair utility problems when necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies.
  • Facilitates and contributes to the development of project plans and designs.
  • Monitors supply room and inventory of spare parts.
  • Recommends and/or analyzes materials, equipment, and practices used in the project.
  • Notifies supervisor of utility equipment needing additional attention or repairs.
  • Prepares periodic progress and cost reports for leadership.
  • Conducts Prechecks and locates.
  • Supervises progress of development project.
  • Uses control panels and surveillance systems to detect and monitor malfunctions in utility systems.
  • When a malfunction is detected, inspects affected systems and areas.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Basic understanding of ISO 9000 design requirements.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related engineering discipline required.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in project management, engineering, systems design, or other related field, with at least three years of management experience leading multidisciplinary design teams required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Compensation:

  • Commensurate with experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
