Overview

Danella Companies, Inc. is currently hiring for a URD Foreman located out of our Corporate Headquarters in Plymouth Meeting, PA. Travel will be involved within the Philadelphia region.

 

Danella celebrated its 52nd Anniversary as a utility construction leader and is ranked by the Engineering News-Record (ENR) within the Top 20 of Utility Contractors in the United States.

 

SUMMARY

Danella's URD Foreman assists in supervising, managing, and monitoring a team of union laborers and operators. This position is a field management role and includes understanding business-related components, maintaining regular documentation, and implications related to the team's activities. Good communication skills are essential as this position reports to a Superintendent and the Project Management team about project status. The Foreman also ensures compliance with and upholds all Danella safety and quality management protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Communicating with the team about project milestones
  • Communicating with the Project Management team
  • Monitoring the crew's progress and keeping construction in line with objectives
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with customers (when appropriate)
  • Compliance with safety policies and procedures
  • Point of contact for customers, inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Completing a Pre-Job Hazard Analysis each day
  • Weekly toolbox talks
  • Securing worksites at the end of each day to ensure public safety and safety of Danella equipment
  • Report equipment/vehicle repairs needed
  • Lead by example by modeling proper safety behaviors and maintain a drug-free work environment
  • Assist in investigations of incidents and claims (as required)
  • Training of new crew members following Danella policies and safety practices
  • Foster trust, accountability, and open communication with crews

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS/EDUCATION

  • Specialized training in a relevant Construction field or equivalent work experience
  • Understanding of construction and utility industry practices, processes, and standards
  • Advanced technical knowledge within an assigned LOB or construction specialty
  • Exposure to industry-relevant software
  • Moderately complex problem-solving skills
